BATA INDIA DECLARES Q2 RESULTS – FOURTH CONSECUTIVE QUARTER OF ACCELERATING GROWTH

— Strong double digit profit growth | Premiumisation and SSSG drive growth | Improved cash flow

GURUGRAM | 03rd NOVEMBER 2026 | Bata India, India’s most trusted footwear today announced its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, reporting revenue of Rs. 8,618 million, reflecting a growth of over 7.5% vs. Rs. 8,013 million in Q2FY26, despite the festive calendar largely deferring to Q3 this year. Profit after tax for the quarter stood at Rs. 180 million, compared with Rs. 138 million in the corresponding quarter last year, a growth of over 31%, supported by higher ASP.

One-off’s for the quarter includes non-cash forex loss on license fees amounting to Rs. 30 million owing to continued currency devaluation and Rs. 39 million towards one time asset write-off. Other income was lower by Rs. 46 milion due to distribution of surplus funds of Rs. 3,213 million during the quarter as special dividend.

Commenting on the results, Mr. Sanjay S. Rao, Managing Director and CEO, Bata India, who took over from October 1, 2026, said, “On a quarterly basis, the growth momentum continued for the fourth consecutive quarter, with a topline growth of over 7.5% in Q2FY27, robust LFL & ASP growth in Retail, and double-digit growth in Franchise and I&D channels.”

“Gross margin improved marginally, and operating performance continued to strengthen. Inventory improved in both quantity and quality, with freshness at 92% and net stock 7% lower than on September 30, 2025. We now have 2,000+ stores (including franchise) and 3,800+ KROs, and are optimising the network to drive footfall. Zero Base Merchandising, now in 850 stores, has improved consumer experience and revenue per sq. ft. Despite higher input costs and wage revisions, freshness and prudent sourcing delivered our highest full-price sales and lower markdowns. We remain focused on profitable growth through premiumisation, network expansion, sharper assortment, volume growth, consumer engagement, operational excellence and disciplined capital allocation. With festive business shifting to Q3, we expect the growth momentum to continue,” he added.
