CREDAI Women’s Wing members learn tips to safeguard against cyber scams

Ahmedabad 10 September 2024: As cybersecurity threats continue to rise in today’s digitally driven world, CREDAI Women’s Wing Ahmedabad took a proactive step by organising an exclusive session on cybersecurity awareness titled “Protect Yourself From Cyber Scams”.

The session was addressed by renowned cybersecurity expert Kaushik Pandya, who has spoken at numerous cybersecurity related events across the country. He shared valuable insights into the latest online scams and provided practical strategies for safeguarding personal and professional data.

The event, organised on Tuesday, saw an enthusiastic response, with participants keen to learn how to protect themselves from digital frauds. The key takeaways of the session included effective password management, recognising phishing attempts and social media scams, securing oneself on public WiFi networks, steps to take if targeted by cyber frauds, and other facets of cybersecurity.

Nikita Shah, City Convenor of CREDAI Women’s Wing Ahmedabad, said, “With the growing role of technology in our day-to-day life, the importance of safeguarding ourselves against cyber scams cannot be overstated. The rise in cyber crimes, with both individuals and businesses being targeted by cyber criminals, makes staying safe online critical. The key to doing so is by being aware. This session equipped our members with the knowledge and tools they need to protect themselves from digital frauds.”

Nupur Patel, Joint Honorary Treasurer of CREDAI Women’s Wing Ahmedabad, said that the insights and practical tips shared at the session would help the participants stay safe in the digital landscape.

The session focused on vulnerable groups such as teenagers and senior citizens, who are often the primary targets of cyber scams. It also served as a platform for members to network and share their experiences, creating a stronger sense of community within the organisation.
