J&K LG Manoj Sinha Inaugurates Morari Bapu’s Historic Ram Katha at Srinagar

Srinagar 20 April 2025: In a momentous spiritual milestone for the Kashmir Valley, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, inaugurated the nine-day Ram Katha by renowned spiritual leader and Ram Katha exponent Morari Bapu on the serene banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar on Saturday.

This marks the first Ram Katha in the valley after several decades, making it a historic and deeply symbolic event. The gathering witnessed a large number of devotees and citizens from diverse walks of life, united in devotion and spirituality.

In his inaugural address, Manoj Sinha lauded the universal resonance of Ram Katha, calling it a timeless spiritual tradition that transcends cultures and sects.

“Ram Katha has undeniably shaped societies, offering moral guidance, shared narratives, and a sense of unity to billions. Lord Ram’s message of righteousness, compassion, and duty continues to inspire humanity across generations,” he said.

Reflecting on Morari Bapu’s life and mission, the Lieutenant Governor acknowledged his tireless efforts in awakening societal consciousness and spreading the message of truth (satya), love (prem) and compassion (karuna) through Ram Katha across the globe.

“Morari Bapu’s Ram Kathas have become a source of wisdom and unity for people worldwide. His teachings based on the life of Lord Rama promote ethical living and a just, compassionate society,” he added.

Morari Bapu has been reciting Ram Katha for over six decades across India and abroad, spreading the teachings of Lord Rama and the Ramayana through his message of universal brotherhood. The Srinagar Ram Katha is his 955th Katha.

The Srinagar Ram Katha has become possible because of the dedicated efforts of the Bhartiya Lok Kalyan Trust, under the guidance of trustees Arun Kumar Saraf and Kaushalesh Nandan Prasad Sinha. The Lieutenant Governor extended his felicitations to them and all those involved in making the historic Ram Katha a reality. The Katha will continue for nine days.
