AHMEDABAD | 08th FEBRUARY 2026 — The JCG Social Service Trust organised the 43rd Jain mass marriage ceremony, during which nine couples solemnised their marriages in accordance with Jain traditions. The ceremony was held on Sunday at the Seven Seas Party Plot near Science City Circle.
The marriages were conducted strictly in accordance with Jain scriptures, covering all rituals from the arrival of the wedding procession to the bride’s farewell. The Trust ensured that the couples did not have to pay any fee. Separate mandaps and dedicated arrangements for Jain priests (Gor Maharaj) were made for each couple. Forty complimentary entry passes were provided to each family to facilitate the participation of close relatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh R. Shah -Trustee, JCG Social Service Trust & Chairman, Managing Director of GSEC Ltd. and Chairman, Jain Cultural Group, Ahmedabad, said, “The objective of this mass marriage initiative is to support economically weaker families while encouraging a simple, dignified and socially responsible marriage tradition that is free from unnecessary expenditure.”
The Trust also coordinated with marriage registration authorities to collect all required documentation, enabling the issuance of official marriage certificates to the couples.
The JCG Social Service Trust has facilitated the marriages of nearly 900 couples through this initiative to date. The programme typically supports families from economically weaker sections but it has also attracted participation from well-to-do and socially progressive couples who believe in simple wedding ceremonies.
The event was made possible through the generous financial support of donors, the dedicated efforts of volunteers, and, in several instances, contributions from the families of the couples themselves. Leading industrialists and respected members of society were present on the occasion and extended their blessings to the newly married couples.
