Gandhinagar, Gujarat 10th April 2025: Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat welcomed Homoeopath academicians, scholars, clinicians, professionals and students with the largest conventionon Homoeopathy inaugurated today.
World Homoeopathy Day 2025 united the global Homoeopathy fraternity at Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar as they came together to commemorate 270th birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homoeopathy,conceptualised by the Central Council for Research in Homoeopath (CCRH) in association with National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) and National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH), under the aegis of Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, World Homoeopathy Day 2025 takes an impactful stride in promoting homoeopathy’s global impact, advancements and its integration into modern healthcare.
Underlining the theme of ‘Education, Practice and Research in Homoeopathy’, the event saw over 8,000 attendees from various parts of the world. With collaborative brainstorming sessions, panel discussions, exhibitions and paper presentations, the convention brought spotlight on latest R&D efforts, various clinical researches, publications and its global reach. It showcased how community outreach programs have helped heal individuals at various level.
World Homoeopathy Day 2025 catalysed translating research findings into practical industry applications aided by policy makers and industry experts to cater to the growing global healthcare needs. The convention also deepened India’s commitment towards promotion of its traditional medicine systems, Homoeopathy in particular.

Addressing the august event, Hon’ble Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, emphasis the potential and impact of Homoeopathy, said, “I would like to highlight about the transformative potential of homoeopathy, particularly in the realm of public health, and to highlight its growing relevance in our modern world, with a special focus on its significance in India. This therapy is scientific, evidence-based and is well established as a preventive and primary healthcare therapy. Ministry of Ayush, is playing a pivotal role in integrating homoeopathy into public health services and national health programs.”

He thanked the Ministry of Ayush for choosing Gujarat to host this event and added that it makes it even more special with Jamnagar in Gujarat being home to WHO’s Global Centre for Traditional Medicine. He lauded the services of CCRH, NCH and NIH.
Addressing the symposium, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Hon’bleUnion Minister of State (I/C), Ministry of Ayush said, “India is proud to be leading the global discourse on integrative, patient-centric healthcare. Homoeopathy, rooted in science and compassion, is not just a tradition—it is a powerful tool for preventive and holistic well-being. On this World Homeopathy Day, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthen its foundations through research, education and public trust.Homoeopathy is not only effective, but also natural, gentle, and affordable. Dr. Samuel Hahnemann’s invention of homeopathy stands as a monumental gift to humanity. In India, our diverse medical systems collectively contribute to the nation’s health, and the Ministry of Ayush remains committed to scientific validation and rightful recognition.”
He further said, “I would like to highlight that the foundation of the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) is deeply rooted in the cultivation of medicinal plants and the standardization of medicines used in homeopathy. The standardization process involves establishing defined parameters and acceptable benchmarks for various plant characteristics to ensure the quality and consistency of raw materials.”
Shri Jadhav highlighted the efforts of CCRH in making Homoeopathy a scientific endeavor and said, “Since its inception, the Council has conducted pharmacognosy studies on 368 medicines, physicochemical studies on 362, and medicinal property assessments on 151 medicines—culminating in comprehensive studies across all three dimensions for 149 homeopathic medicines. At its Central Research Institute in Ooty, the Council has prepared over 17,000 herbarium sheets, which are currently being digitized—a clear reflection of CCRH’s unwavering commitment to preserving and enriching botanical knowledge.”
Vaidya Shri Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, speaking on this occasion said, “World Homoeopathy Day is not just a celebration of a gentle system of healing — it is a tribute to the timeless vision of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. As we witness a surge in evidence-based research, global demand, and integration of homoeopathy in public healthcare, India stands at the forefront of this transformation. The Ministry of Ayush remains committed to strengthening the homoeopathy ecosystem through education, innovation, and outreach, ensuring that this safe, cost-effective, and people-centric system continues to serve humanity for generations to come.”
