Blood Donation Camp Held in Memory of Organ Donor Krish Akbari

AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT | 03rd MAY 2026 | A blood donation camp was organised on Sunday at Satyamev Elysium on Science City Road in memory of Krish Akbari, the teenage accident victim whose organs gave a new lease of life to others.

The camp aimed to encourage voluntary blood donation and raise awareness about the importance of organ donation. A large number of residents of the society and nearby areas participated in the camp. 104 units of blood were collected during the camp, which was organised in association with Indian Red Cross Society, Ahmedabad District Branch.

Krish, a Class 12 science student and resident of Satyamev Elysium, lost his life following a tragic accident involving a nilgai (blue bull) in March. Despite the loss, his family chose to donate his organs. His heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, corneas and hands were donated, helping save lives of multiple recipients.

Speaking on the occasion, his father Dr. Ravi Akbari, a practising physiotherapist, said, “Krish was always compassionate and willing to help others. While we could not save him, we found strength in knowing that his organs gave others a second chance at life. Through this blood donation camp, we hope more people understand the value of blood and organ donation. We are grateful to all donors and volunteers who have come forward and supported this initiative.”

The camp carried the message ‘Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives’, highlighting how a simple act of donation can help save multiple lives. The initiative was also intended to honour Krish’s memory by inspiring others to come forward and contribute to such causes.
