Q: Amazon Prime is completing 10 years in India. How has the program evolved for Indian customers?
Prime started in India a decade ago as a delivery-focused membership but has grown into a comprehensive program that touches every aspect of a customer’s daily life — shopping, entertainment, savings and ultra-fast delivery in minutes. Prime kick started a new era of shopping in India and today stands as one of the country’s largest paid membership programs. We are on track to double our member base compared to 2023; and what makes this growth truly special is that over 70% of new members are coming from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and towns. Prime is no longer just for metros — it is a program built for Bharat. Prime members shop five times more frequently than non-members, and nearly 50% of them get back more than five times their membership cost in savings and benefits.Indians save more as Prime members!
Q: Prime Day 2026 is around the corner. What can customers look forward to this year?
Customers can look forward to a lot of savings and get a lot of things that may have been on their wish list at much better value. Prime Day 2026 will run from 12:00 AM on July 4 to 11:59 PM on July 6 and will be a 72-hour celebration exclusively for Prime members.Prime Day 2026 will be the biggest Prime Day yet, featuring the biggest deals across the widest selection ever offered in the last decade. Q: How is Amazon ensuring faster deliveries across smaller cities and towns?
Prime introduced Indian online customers to speed and that offering remains at the heart of Prime. In 2025 alone, over 57 crore products were delivered the same day or next day— almost a 40% increase over the previous year. We invested ₹2,000 crore in infrastructure last year, adding 17 new fulfilment centres, 6 sortation centres, and 75 last-mile stations. In 2026, we are investing ₹2,800 crore to further expand our operations network. Today, Amazon delivers to 100% serviceable pin codes in India, with 97% pin codes receiving deliveries within two days. We are committed to improving delivery speeds and making a wider selection available to our Prime members pan India.
