Rashtriya Raksha University announces course for K9 trainers and pet parents

Ahmedabad May 2024: Rashtriya Raksha University, an institution of national importance, pioneering national security and police education university, has announced a new course tailored for K9 trainers and pet parents to help them enhance their skills and knowledge.
The course has been introduced by Rashtriya Raksha University’s School of Private, Industrial, and Corporate Security Management (SPICSM) as part of its commitment to bridging the gap in private and corporate security requirements.
“Canines play an unseen but very important role in national security by assisting law enforcement agencies. The number of families adopting dogs as pets is also on the rise. Our new course is specifically tailored for K9 trainers and pet parents and will help them become better at dealing with pets,” said Nimesh Dave, Director of the School of Private, Industrial, and Corporate Security Management.
Going ahead, the university will also introduce modules related to basic obedience training, sniffing techniques, agility exercises, and methods of protection of assets by dogs in the curriculum. These courses will be offered round the year and an exam will be conducted annually. Those who clear the exam will receive a ‘Certified K9 Trainer’ certificate by a central government university, said further.
With a commitment to quality teaching and pragmatic approaches, SPICSM boasts a faculty comprising highly qualified academicians, renowned practitioners, industry experts, and leaders. The school also offers opportunities for re-skilling and up-skilling of private and corporate security personnel.
Rashtriya Raksha University is a leading centre of knowledge for global and national stakeholders and is committed to contributing to a peaceful and prosperous world order. Its focus lies in cultivating the statecraft of national strategic, security, and police culture through continuous enhancement and development of educational, research, and training initiatives across its 11 specialised schools.
