The construction of Shri Bhawanidham, the centre of Rajput faith, will be completed in two years. To be built with 8,500 tonnes of marble, the temple will accommodate over 1,700 devotees at a time.
Ahmedabad, June 29, 2024: The construction of a grand temple dedicated to Goddess Bhawani by the Rajput community is going on in full swing in Vastadi village of Surendranagar. Leaders of the Rajput community convened on Saturday to review the progress of the temple’s construction and discuss the development of various social welfare activities within the temple campus.
The notable participants included former Karnataka Governor and Trustee of Shree Bhawanidham Pratishthan Trust, Vajubhai Vala, Shree Bhawanidham Pratishthan Trust President Kishoresinh Chauhan, President of Samast Rajput Samaj – Gujarat, Kanbha Gohil, Former Minister and President of Akhil Gujarat Karadiya Rajput Samaj Jashabhai Barad, Shree Bhawanidham Pratishthan Trust Trustee Vijaysinh Barad, President of Akhil Gujarat Nadoda Rajput Samaj Naranbhai Sagar, and MLAs Babusinh Jadav and Kiritsinh Dabhi.
The community leaders unanimously decided to develop facilities such as an educational training centre, health centre, tourist accommodations, eatery, garden, lake, and other amenities in the grand Bhawani temple campus. High-quality educational and healthcare facilities will be provided, benefiting Rajputs and other community members across the state.
The grand Bhawani temple initiative, first proposed by Vajubhai Vala five years ago, aims to unite the Rajput community and inculcate a spirit of nationalism alongside religious devotion. Vastadi in Surendranagar was chosen as the temple site to preserve the Rajput community’s cultural heritage.
In response to Vajubhai Vala’s appeal, Vijaysinh Barad, a Trustee of Shree Bhawanidham Pratishthan Trust, donated 17 acres of land for the temple. The remaining land was acquired by the trust.
Spread over 32 acres, Shree Bhawanidham is being built at a cost of Rs. 120 crore and will require more than 8,500 tonnes of Makrana marble. Around 35% of the work has been completed. The temple will stand 133 feet tall, 257 feet long, and 221 feet wide. It will feature around 124 pillars and accommodate 1,700 devotees at a time. No iron is being used in the construction, and experts from various fields are being involved to ensure broader participation and top-notch facilities.
A 51-member Chief Guidance and Executive Board of Shree Bhawanidham Pratishthan, including members from 26 districts of Gujarat and 25 invitee members, was also announced on the occasion. Additionally, the Shree Bhawanidham Pratishthan Advisory and Planning Board, consisting of 151 members and 51 invitee members from over 155 talukas in the state, was also announced. Rajputs from 16 Indian states and 11 other countries will also be included in the committee.
A beautiful logo for the magnificent temple, which will become a centre of faith of Rajputs across the country, was also unveiled during the event.
Vajubhai Vala, who initiated the temple’s construction and efforts to unite the community five years ago, said that the temple would be completed in two years. He emphasised that Shree Bhawanidham will play a crucial role in preserving the Rajput community’s heritage of chivalry and culture, urging the community to unite, cultivate good habits, and avoid vices and addictions.
Speaking with reporters, Shree Bhawanidham Trust Trustee Kishoresinh Chauhan, said, “We have received encouraging support from the entire Rajput community and others for the grand temple of Bhawani in Vastadi village. Along with the grand temple of Goddess Bhawani, we have also decided to establish an educational centre and health centre, which will be a boon for residents of Surendranagar and other districts. The Rajput community is grateful to Shri Vijaysinh Barad and his family for donating 17 acres of land for these noble works.”
Narendrasinh Jadav of Ahmedabad, Dr. Aniruddsinh Padhiyar, Maheshbhai Rathod, Pravinsinh Chauhan, Ajitsinh Masani of Surendranagar, and Shree Bhawanidham Convenor and Coordinator Tejasbhai Bhatti contributed to making the event a success.
