GUJARAT, AHMEDABAD | 12th JANUARY 2026 — The ninth edition of the Sicilian Games, Ahmedabad’s largest entrepreneurial sporting event hosted by BNI Ahmedabad, concluded with a vibrant Sicilian Carnival and closing ceremony on Sunday. The evening brought together hundreds of BNI members and their families to mark the culmination of a month-long initiative centred on sport, engagement and wellness.
Held at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, the Sicilian Games witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 2,500 entrepreneurs and professionals across Ahmedabad, who competed in 18 sporting disciplines over a 30-day period. A flagship initiative of BNI Ahmedabad, the Games have evolved into a platform that encourages business leaders to prioritise physical fitness, teamwork and discipline alongside professional success.
The closing ceremony featured the Sicilian Carnival, which included a range of engaging activities, games and entertainment, along with the popular Sicilian Housie. Members, along with their spouses and children, participated enthusiastically, reinforcing the family-oriented spirit that has become a hallmark of the Sicilian Games.
Speaking on the occasion , Yash Vasant, Chairman and Executive Director of BNI Ahmedabad, said the Sicilian Games had grown into much more than a sporting competition.
“The Sicilian Games have become a shared movement within the larger BNI community. Over the past month, we have seen entrepreneurs step away from their work pressures to invest time in their health, their teams and their community. As Ahmedabad prepares to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games and other global sporting events, initiatives like the Sicilian Games will play a vital role in building a strong sporting culture in the city,” he said.
He added that the enthusiastic response from members reaffirmed the relevance of such initiatives.
“When business leaders come together to play, compete and support one another, it sends a powerful message. This is the spirit behind our belief of BNI khelega, Gujarat khelega,” he said.
The Sicilian Games were hosted by BNI Ahmedabad and presented by Broghar Realty. With each edition, the Games continue to strengthen bonds across chapters, promote wellness, and reinforce BNI Ahmedabad’s commitment to building successful businesses and a connected entrepreneurial community.
