PM Modi Ensured Balanced Development in Gujarat: CM Bhupendra Patel at Sabarmati Samvaad

Gujarat, Gandhinagar 24 February 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured holistic and balanced development in Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said at Sabarmati Samvaad 2025, organised by Panchjanya weekly in Gandhinagar on Sunday. The event focused on India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, with Gujarat emerging as a model of policy-driven growth.

Addressing a gathering of industry leaders, entrepreneurs, thinkers and policymakers, the Chief Minister noted that before Narendra Modi became the chief minister, development in the state was limited to the “Vapi to Tapi” belt, the region between Surat and Vapi in south Gujarat.

“There was no electricity, water or roads in other regions of the state. Because of the visionary leadership of Narendrabhai Modi, Gujarat today stands as a model of holistic growth,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that the Sabarmati Riverfront is the symbol of this transformation and also compared the dire condition of the Yamuna River in Delhi to the Sabarmati River.

Speaking about the BJP’s recent victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, he said, “The people of Delhi voted for PM Narendra Modi for a similar transformation. Despite giving opportunities to all parties, they realised that only he could make such development possible.”

He also credited PM Modi’s leadership for the completion of the Narmada dam project, which was stagnant for many years, and for ensuring that the river’s water reaches Kutch through an extensive canal network. The Chief Minister said that every prime minister had tried to bring semiconductor manufacturing to India, but only PM Modi could make it a reality and noted that semiconductor plants are coming up in Gujarat.

The day-long event brought together a galaxy of participants to discuss India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi spoke about security and economic growth, while IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani shared insights on entrepreneurship.

GMDC Managing Director Roopwant Singh highlighted Gujarat’s energy policy and green energy investments, and Amul MD b Mehta along with MLA Rivaba Jadeja discussed branding and digital influence.

Dr Sunil Shukla (EDII), Prakash Varmora (Varmora Group), Ranveer Singh Bhati, and Jayesh Patel examined Gujarat’s booming startup ecosystem. Dr Neerja Gupta (Gujarat University) spoke about industry-academia collaboration for future workforce development.

As part of the event, CM Bhupendra Patel felicitated Prakash Varmora, Ranveersinh Bhati, Jayesh Patel, and Naresh Kumawat, who shared their experiences in the session “Flight of Entrepreneurship”.

The event concluded with a vision roadmap for Developed India 2047. The notable participants included Arun Goyal, MD of Bharat Prakashan, Vineet Kumar Garg, Director of Bharat Prakashan, and Hitesh Shankar, Editor of Bharat Prakashan.
