Over 9 in 10 Recruiters in Ahmedabad are Investing up to 70% of their Hiring Budgets in AI and Tech to Hire Smarter, Faster: LinkedIn Research

Ahmedabad 19th June 2025: AI and innovation are growing stronger roots in Ahmedabad, and the city’s recruitment landscape mirrors this trend. New research from LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network, reveals that over 93% of organisations in Ahmedabad are investing up to 70% of their recruitment budgets in tech and AI hiring tools.

LinkedIn’s India Hiring ROI research, based on responses from over 1,300 HR professionals across 10 cities, finds that recruiters in Ahmedabad are balancing speed and quality of hiring, with time to hire (70%); quality of hire (69%) and revenue per employee (59%) emerging as the top 3 metrics of hiring success. The definition of ‘quality talent’ is shifting with 48% recruiters in the city prioritising practical and transferable skills when defining talent quality.

RucheeAnand, Head of LinkedIn Talent Solutions in India, says, “Across India, recruiters are reimagining hiring through a skills-first lens and Ahmedabad is embracing this shift. As GCCs and growing enterprises in the city compete for top talent, the focus is on finding skilled candidates faster with the assistance of technology. With nearly half of recruiters in Ahmedabad already seeing value from online platforms, LinkedIn’s AI-powered tools can supercharge this momentum to enable smarter decisions, sharper targeting, and stronger hiring outcomes.”

Talent gaps key challenge across sectors

Across India, sectors like Retail & wholesale (66%) and IT & technology (62%) are also giving skills the higher seat when weighing talent. However, recruiters in IT & technology companies struggle to find quality candidates quickly (69%), while Retail & wholesale say it’s tough to find the right mix of technical and soft skills (68%). For Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in Ahmedabad, balancing global company goals with local skill availability (83%) poses significant hurdles in hiring skilled talent locally.

Recruiters are using AI to save time by automating manual tasks and enhancing productivity. As per the research, 62% of Ahmedabad’s recruiters are using AI-powered screening tools, and 66% are leveraging data analytics in decision making to hire faster. Across India, IT & technology companies are also using AI-powered screening tools (71%) and data analytics (74%) to speed up hiring.

Recruiters are seeing measurable benefits: 46% in Ahmedabad say AI yields better quality candidates and 43% say it increases hiring efficiency. As AI adoption grows, 89% of recruiters in Ahmedabad expect to step up as ‘strategic career advisors’ in their roles, and 99% plan to use personalised content and data insights to engage candidates more effectively.
