Gujarat, Ahmedabad 28 February 2025: In a small town in Uttar Pradesh, where the streets are lined with closed schools, a team of passionate educators dared to imagine a different future. They envisioned a world where every child, regardless of their background or location, had access to quality education. This was the spark that ignited Cograd, a social impact initiative founded by IIT and NIT alumni Himanshu Chaurasia and Saurabh Yadav.
Today, Cograd is revolutionizing the way rural India learns. By renting closed schools and transforming them into state-of-the-art learning centreswith equal opportunities for all kids. Their innovative approach has caught the attention of the sharks, and they’ve secured a 1 crore deal that will help them take their mission to the next level.
While Anupam and Kunal were sceptical, believing they should focus on one thing at a time, Ritesh, Vineeta, and Namita were impressed by Cograd’svision and joined the deal. The finalized deal saw Cograd secure 50 lakhs for 6% equity, plus 50 lakhs debt at a 9% interest rate for three years by the three sharks.
Himanshu Chaurasia, Co-founder of Cograd, said, “Our mission is to educate small-town children and provide them with the same opportunities as their urban counterparts. We believe that every child deserves access to quality education, and we’re committed to making that a reality. We’re thrilled to have partnered with sharks – Ritesh Agarwal, Vineeta Singh, and Namita Thapar. Their expertise and guidance will be invaluable as we continue to scale and improve our education model.”
With a strong focus on teacher training and the development of Medha AI, a teacher training app, Cograd is poised to revolutionize rural education in India.
