Youth Ambassador Vidit Sharma, Alongside Gujarat Nursing Council President Dr. M. M. Prabhakar and Eminent Medical Dignitaries, Addresses Oath Taking Ceremony of Nursing Students During His 38th College & University Visit

AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT | 20th JUNE 2026 | In a significant milestone for Gujarat’s youth awareness movement, Youth Ambassador Vidit Sharma completed his 38th College & University Visit during the “Oath Taking Ceremony & Youth Awareness Programme” organized for the 2nd Batch of B.Sc. Nursing students at Smt. S. M. Shah Nursing College, affiliated with Smt. SMS Multi-Speciality Hospital, Ahmedabad.

The event was graced by Dr. M. M. Prabhakar, Hon’ble President, Gujarat Nursing Council, Dr. Purvesh Shah (Chief Patron), Dr. A. T. Lauva (Dean, Dr. M. K. Shah Medical College & Research Centre), Dr. M. M. Vegad (Additional Dean), Dr. S. T. Malhan (Medical Superintendent, Smt. S. M. S. Multi-Speciality Hospital), Dr. Chaitri Shah (Additional Medical Superintendent), Ms. Krupa Patel (Principal, Smt. S. M. Shah Nursing College) and Vidit Sharma, Youth Ambassador, who addressed the gathering as Chief Guest.

The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, prayer ceremony, floral welcome and the solemn Oath Taking Ceremony, where nursing students pledged themselves to the highest standards of professional ethics, patient care, compassion and service to humanity.

Addressing the students, Vidit Sharma congratulated them on choosing one of the noblest professions in society and emphasized that nursing professionals are not only healthcare providers but also pillars of emotional support, hope and compassion for patients and their families.

Speaking about his statewide initiative “Mental Health Awareness – No to Drugs, No to Suicide,” Vidit Sharma shared that the campaign has now successfully reached 38 colleges and universities across Gujarat, impacting and inspiring lakhs of students through awareness sessions focused on mental wellness, youth empowerment, leadership, social responsibility and nation-building.

The distinguished dignitaries present on the occasion collectively encouraged the nursing students to uphold the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, compassion and service. They emphasized the critical role of healthcare professionals in strengthening society and inspired the students to dedicate themselves to excellence, lifelong learning and patient-centered care.

The programme concluded with prize distribution, a vote of thanks and the National Anthem. The event served as an inspiring platform for future healthcare professionals, reinforcing the values of service, discipline, compassion and social responsibility.
