Tata Power Renewables’ 100 MW Rojmal Wind Project Strengthens Gujarat’s Clean Energy Landscape

  • Generates 140 million units of green energy per year
  • Offset approximately 114800 tonnes of CO emissions per year
  • Real-time analytics and advanced fault management systems ensuring improved reliability

AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT | 22nd MAY 2026 | Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited and a leading player in Indias renewable energy sector, operates the 100 MW Rojmal Wind Project in Gujarat. Spread across the districts of Rajkot, Amreli, and Botad, the project represents a significant contribution towards strengthening Indias renewable energy capacity and supporting the country’s transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.

The project was commissioned in January 2017 and comprises two phases of 50 MW each. It supplies renewable energy exclusively to Gujarat UrjaVikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) through the GETCO network under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The wind farm consists of 50 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) of 2 MW capacity each, installed at a hub height of 80 meters. The Rojmal Wind Project generates 140 million units (MUs) of clean energy per year, offsetting approximately 114800 tonnes of CO emissions per annum.

A key highlight of the project has been TPRELs continued focus on operational excellence and innovation, including the successful execution of an industry-first crane-less gearbox replacement for the RD 93/100 model Wind Turbine Generator at the site. The company has also implemented several performance enhancement initiatives, including Leading Edge Protection (LEP) application and proactive on-tower blade repair activities, aimed at improving turbine efficiency, reliability, and long-term operational performance.

The project operations are supported by TPRELs CREAMS (Centre of Renewable Energy Analytics, Monitoring & Scheduling) team, enabling 247 real-time monitoring of operational parameters for faster analytics, predictive maintenance, and timely decision-making. In addition, communicative fault indicator devices installed on dedicated 33 kV feeders support rapid fault detection and localization, helping improve operational uptime and grid reliability.

With a strong portfolio spanning solar, wind, hybrid, and energy storage solutions, TPREL continues to play a pivotal role in accelerating Indias renewable energy transition and enabling a greener, more sustainable future.
